The director or fosterer of pity among all the living, i.e. the fifth in the [lang id =1028]除蓋障 court of the Garbhadhātu group. Also [lang id =1028]大慈起; [lang id =1028]慈發生; [lang id =1028]慈愍慧; [lang id =1028]慈念金剛. His Sanskrit name is translit. [lang id =1028]昧憺利也毘廋拏糵多.
